Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery (MAM), an affiliate of Mahindra & Mahindra, has decided to discontinue its agricultural machinery operations due to the business experiencing ongoing financial losses for several years. The company made this decision after conducting an internal assessment of its ability to operate in business for an extended period.
The agricultural machinery division of the joint venture proved unprofitable according to the review results, which determined that the business should cease its operations. Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery began its operations when Mahindra & Mahindra and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan established a joint venture to create and distribute tractors and agricultural machinery.
The company has struggled to achieve stable financial success over the past few years. Industry observers note that increasing competition in the global tractor market and changing demand patterns may have contributed to the company’s financial challenges. The joint venture partners will reevaluate their future agricultural equipment business plans after the partners depart from their partnership. The upcoming months will bring forth new information about when and how the exit will take place.
