PM Modi inaugurates Mahindra Tractor Training Centre in Gadchiroli – Empowering Rural Youth in Agriculture

Mumbai, October 8, 2025: Hon in the presence of Hon Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, inaugurated the Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre at Government ITI College, Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, virtually. Mahindra Tractors, the largest manufacturer of tractors in India, has set up the centre with the Department of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS).

The initiative is a breakthrough in improving the rural young people with industry-related skills in farm machinery and automotive industries, supporting the long-term vision of Mahindra to improve the employability and rural economic development in India.

A Viable Solution to Empowering Rural India through Skill Development.

Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre is grounded on the need to address the disparity between the past farming methods and the current-day farming technology. Students will have real-world experience in tractor technology, operation and maintenance of farm equipment through organised hands-on training programs.

The centre aims to equip the future generation of qualified specialists to serve the agricultural machinery sector well and to deal with the increasing mechanisation demands in India.

Experiential Learning and Professional Development.

The state-of-the-art plant offers an all-inclusive training program through professional trainers. There will be a practical exposure of students to modern tractors, implements, and farm machinery, as well as technical instruction on real-life application in agriculture.

The training modules are set to prepare the trainees to pursue various career paths in:

  • Manufacturing plants
  • Networks of sales and dealerships.
  • Sales and service, after-sales and maintenance.

The centre aspires to create an effective talent pipeline in the tractor and farm equipment industry in India by integrating classroom training with practical training.

Promoting the Remote Area Development and Independence.

This initiative is based in Gadchiroli, which is one of the aspiring districts in Maharashtra and is one of the reflections of Mahindra in its inclusive rural development. The training centre not only facilitates the employability of local youth but also promotes the entrepreneurial prospects in the agricultural and related fields.

During the opening, the people of Mahindra Tractors said that the centre will be used as the farm of skills training farm and assist in generating livelihoods in the rural areas. Cooperation with DVET and MSSDS can guarantee compliance with the Skill India Mission of the government, so it is a step toward becoming Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
