Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved an increase in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat, which will boost agricultural income, according to a decision made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The new MSP rate for the 2026 procurement season will increase by ₹160 because the Centre directed a price rise according to its guidelines.
The government plans to procure 50 lakh metric tonnes of goods, according to State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, who announced that this target exceeds the original plan of 30 lakh tonnes.
The whole procurement process has been converted to digital operations to give farmers complete access to their increased earnings. The system has been established to remove intermediaries so that farmers receive their payments without any third-party involvement.
"With quality seeds available and a good crop expected, the government is committed to ensuring that no farmer suffers a loss," stated Minister Shahi.
The Minister confirmed that FPOs and companies can join the procurement process after they complete their required registration and bank account verification.
