Polythene bags for growing mushrooms

The polythene bag technique of growing mushrooms is most adopted by farmers. In this technique, farmers do not need to do much hard work. This technique can be done easily in one room. In polythene bag technology, polythene envelopes of 200 gauge measuring 25 inches in length and 23 inches in width, with a height of 14 to 15 inches and a diameter of 15 to 16 inches are used for mushroom production. So that the mushroom can grow much better. 

Mushroom growing Tray Technology

This technique of growing mushrooms is very easy. With the help of technology, farmers can easily transport mushrooms from one place to another because this mushroom production is done through a tray. The size of a tray for growing mushrooms is 1/2 square meters and up to 6 inches deep. So that 28 to 32 kg of fertilizer can easily come in it.

This time the central government will purchase mustard on MSP. The government has made complete preparations for this. Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda has given this information on Wednesday. This time there has been a great yield of mustard in India, on which Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda has thanked the farmers.

The Agriculture Minister says that this year the farmers have produced a large amount of mustard. For this, all the farmers deserve congratulations. Munda said that he has asked the concerned departments to buy mustard at the minimum support price (MSP). So that farmers do not face any difficulty in selling produce and they can get proper amount of produce.

Mustard will be purchased at MSP

In a briefing to the media, Munda further told that the government has prepared to purchase mustard under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) during the marketing season of Rabi crops. He said, "The interest of farmers for the government is paramount. If the price of mustard goes below the minimum support price (MSP), the government will buy mustard from the farmers on MSP. He said that necessary arrangements have also been made for this."

Instructed to complete all the preparations for the purchase

He said that central nodal agencies have already been instructed to be prepared for the purchase of mustard under PSS for the Rabi marketing season (RMS), so that farmers do not face any difficulty. He said, "Purchase approval under PSS from the states of Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Assam during Rabi marketing season-2023 was 28.24 LMT mustard."

Farmers will not have to face more problems

All mustard producing states have also been informed for RMS-2024, that if the current market price of mustard in the state is less than the notified MSP, then send a proposal for purchase of mustard under PSS in time. He said that the mustard MSP for RMS-2024 is Rs 5,650 per quintal. He said that it is the effort of the government that farmers can get the right price for their produce and do not have any problem in selling their products.

There is good news for the farmers of Haryana who cultivate mustard. State Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal says that during the Rabi season, the government will purchase mustard, gram, sunflower and summer moong from farmers at the fixed MSP. Also, sunflower oil will be supplied through fair price shops in 5 districts from March.

What has the Chief Secretary said about the production of crops?

In a meeting, the Chief Secretary said that 50 thousand 800 metric tonnes of sunflower, 14 lakh 14 thousand 710 metric tonnes of mustard, 26 thousand 320 metric tonnes of gram and 33 thousand 600 metric tonnes of summer moong are expected to be produced this season. The Chief Secretary said that Haryana State Warehousing Corporation, Food and Supplies Department and HAFED have also ordered to start preparations to start procurement of mustard, summer moong, gram and sunflower in Mandis.

When will the government start procuring mustard?

The government will start procurement of mustard at the rate of Rs 5,650 per quintal in the last week of March. Similarly, gram will be purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 5 thousand 440 per quintal. From May 15, summer moong will be purchased at the rate of Rs 8 thousand 558 per quintal. Similarly, sunflower will be purchased from June 1 to 15 at the rate of Rs 6760 per quintal.

Those who commit negligence will not be spared

The Chief Secretary has asked the officers to make all necessary arrangements for the convenience of farmers during the procurement process and make payment for the purchased produce within three days. At the same time, he said that those who are negligent in work will not be spared at all. With this decision, farmers will also get a fair price for their produce.

Even before the Lok Sabha elections, the Central Government can give a big gift to the farmers. It is being said that the government may soon approve increasing the MSP of various crops including wheat. It can also increase the SMSP of wheat by 10 percent.

This decision will be taken for the marketing season 2024- 25

For your information, let us tell you that the MSP of mustard and sunflower can be increased by 5 to 7 percent. It is expected that in the coming week, the Central Government may approve to increase in the MSP of Rabi, pulses, and oilseed crops. The main thing is that the decision to increase the MSP will be taken for the marketing season 2024-25.

A total of 23 crops have been included in MSP.

40% import duty on wheat by the Government of India

The main thing is that the price of wheat in the national capital Delhi increased by 1.6% on Tuesday. Due to this, the price of wheat reached Rs 27,390 per metric ton in the wholesale market, which is the highest level since February 10. It is being said that wheat prices have increased by approximately 22% in the last six months. Also, Roller Floor Millers Federation President Pramod Kumar S has raised the demand with the Central Government to remove duty on wheat import. In fact, he has said that if the government removes the import duty on wheat, then its price can definitely come down. In fact, the Government of India has imposed a 40% import duty on wheat, and there does not seem to be any immediate plan to remove it.

Also, as of October 1, there were only 24 million metric tons of wheat in the government wheat stock. Which is much less compared to the five-year average of 37.6 million tonnes. However, the Center has procured 26.2 million tonnes of wheat from farmers in crop season 2023, short of the target of 34.15 million tonnes. At the same time, the Central Government estimates that wheat production in the crop season 2023-24 will be around 112.74 million metric tons. This disease has destroyed the banana crops of the farmers there. Presently this disease has become a cause of trouble for the farmers of India for some years.

How to prevent Panama Wilt disease

Regarding the prevention of Panama Wilt disease, this disease can be treated through the collective efforts of scientists and farmers. Scientists say that no effective medicine has been found yet for Panama Wilt disease. However, scientists at CISH have created a drug called ISAR-Fusicant. Farmers of Bihar and other states have benefited greatly from the use of this medicine. CISH has been trying to save farmers' banana crops for the last three years. For this reason, efforts are being made to deliver this medicine to farmers across India.

Panama Wilt disease has affected these states

In our country India, banana is produced in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. The districts affected by Panama Wilt disease are Katihar and Purnia of Bihar, Faizabad, Barabanki, Maharajganj of Uttar Pradesh, Surat of Gujarat and Burhanpur of Madhya Pradesh. In such a situation, the farmers here need to take special care of their banana crop to protect it from this disease.

For your information, let us tell you that the procurement of paddy will start from November 1 in various districts including Rae Bareli, Unnao, Chitrakoot and Kanpur in the Eastern Zone. Which will continue till 28th February next year. Also, so far 1 lakh 66 thousand 645 farmers have registered in the entire state for selling paddy. Procurement of paddy at minimum support price has started in Uttar Pradesh. The government has made concrete arrangements at the paddy purchasing centre. However, very few farmers are coming to the purchase center to sell paddy. Now in such a situation it is being said that after the next one week there will be intensity in the procurement of paddy. Because this time due to late arrival of monsoon, farmers had started planting paddy late. In fact, till now the paddy crop has not been completely ripe in many areas. At the same time, farmers in western Uttar Pradesh were successful in early planting of paddy. Now in such a situation they are reaching the purchasing centers to sell paddy.

4000 purchasing centers have been established across the state for paddy procurement.

Also, complete preparations have been made by the administration to ensure that the farmers do not face any kind of problem at the purchasing centers. According to the government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, two categories of paddy will be purchased from farmers for the crop season 2023-24. This includes ‘common’ and ‘grade A’ paddy. The special thing is that the MSP of 'Dhan Common' has been fixed at Rs 2183 per quintal. Whereas, ‘Grade A’ will be purchased at the rate of Rs 2203 per quintal. The special thing is that 4000 purchasing centers have been created in the entire state to purchase paddy.

In these districts, paddy will be purchased at MSP from October 1 to January 31.

Father of Green Revolution in India, M.S. Swaminathan ji passed away on September 28, 2023 at 11.20 am in Chennai. Inspired by his father, he made many important contributions in the field of agriculture.

Mankombu Sambasivan Swaminathan, a well-known agricultural scientist and the founder of the country's 'Green Revolution', died on September 28, 2023, at 11.20 a.m., at his home in Chennai. Swaminathan was 98 years old when he died. He has three daughters: Soumya Swaminathan, Madhura Swaminathan, and Nitya Rao. His wife, Meena Swaminathan, had already died.

Who inspired Dr Swaminathan to step into Agriculture

For your knowledge, Swaminathan was born on August 7, 1925 in Kumbakonam to MK Sambasivan, a surgeon, and Parvati Thangammal, and received his education there itself. Swaminathan, who had an interest in agricultural science, was encouraged to seek higher study in this subject by his father, who was a participant in the liberation fight, and also inspired by  Mahatma Gandhi. However, he previously worked for a position in the police department, for which he was qualified in the late 1940s. Swaminathan held two graduate degrees, one from the Agricultural College in Coimbatore (now Tamil Nadu Agricultural University).

Dr. Swaminathan did special work on major crops of Green Revolution

Dr. Swaminathan collaborated closely with two Union Agriculture Ministers, C. Subramaniam (1964-67) and Jagjivan Ram (1967-70 and 1974-77), to ensure the success of the 'Green Revolution', which resulted in the establishment of several agricultural companies in India. Worked to put agricultural successes into action. He worked to increase wheat and rice productivity by heavy use of chemical-biological technologies. Norman Borlaug, a well-known American agricultural scientist and Nobel Prize laureate in 1970, made significant contributions to this field.

Dr. Harishankar Gaur is an excellent agricultural scientist. Dr. Harishankar dedicated his entire life to agriculture. He has always been very fond of agriculture. He has taught the technicalities of agriculture to lakhs of students. For your information, let us tell you that Dr. Harishankar ji has been made a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee.
