Escorts Kubota Reports 22% Growth in Tractor Sales During July 2026

Escorts Kubota Limited has announced its Agri Machinery Business sales performance for July 2026, reporting strong growth in both domestic and overall tractor sales. The company sold a total of 8,731 tractors during the month, compared to 7,154 units in July 2025, registering an impressive 22% year-on-year (YoY) growth. The increase was primarily driven by higher domestic demand, supported by favourable monsoon conditions and improved agricultural activity across the country.

Domestic Tractor Sales Witness Strong Growth

The domestic market remained the biggest contributor to Escorts Kubota's overall sales performance. During July 2026, the company sold 8,194 tractors in India, compared to 6,624 units in the corresponding month last year. This represents a robust 23.7% year-on-year growth, reflecting healthy demand across both wholesale and retail channels.

According to the company, the strong domestic performance was supported by improving monsoon rainfall during July, which reduced the country's rainfall deficit to nearly 14–15%. Better rainfall encouraged farming activities, while the rapid progress of Kharif crop sowing boosted farmer confidence and increased demand for tractors.

Export Sales Register Modest Increase

Strong Performance in FY2026-27 So Far

Escorts Kubota continued its positive momentum during the first four months of the financial year. Between April and July FY2026-27, the company sold a total of 45,593 tractors, compared to 37,735 units during the same period of the previous financial year. This represents an overall 20.8% year-on-year growth.

Domestic sales remained the primary growth driver during this period. The company sold 43,651 tractors in the Indian market, up from 35,472 units in FY2025-26, registering a 23.1% increase. However, export sales declined during the four-month period, with shipments falling to 1,942 units from 2,263 units, resulting in a 14.2% decline.

Key Factors Behind the Sales Growth

Escorts Kubota attributed its strong July performance to improving agricultural conditions across the country. Better monsoon rainfall, stronger wholesale and retail demand, and faster Kharif sowing activities created favourable market conditions for tractor sales. Improved rural sentiment and increasing investments in farm mechanisation also supported demand during the month.

Outlook

Looking ahead, Escorts Kubota expects rural demand to remain resilient as agricultural activities continue across major farming regions. The company believes that healthy monsoon conditions and ongoing mechanisation will continue to support tractor demand. However, it also noted that factors such as the progress of the Kharif crop, rainfall distribution during the remaining monsoon season, rising agricultural input costs, the delayed festive season in the third quarter, and the high sales base of the previous year could influence market performance in the coming months.

Despite these challenges, Escorts Kubota remains optimistic about the long-term outlook for the Indian tractor industry, driven by increasing mechanisation, supportive agricultural policies, and sustained demand from farmers.
