India’s tractor market recorded 13.75% year-on-year growth in September 2026, with total sales increasing to 76,906 units from 67,612 units in September 2025.

Mahindra Retains Market Leadership
Mahindra & Mahindra’s Tractor Division remained the top-selling tractor OEM with sales of 18,223 units in September 2026, compared with 15,524 units in September 2025. Its sales grew by approximately 17.38%, while market share increased from 22.96% to 23.70%.
The Swaraj Division of Mahindra & Mahindra recorded sales of 13,975 units, up from 11,564 units last year. Sales grew by approximately 20.85%, while market share increased from 17.10% to 18.17%.
ITL Records Strong Growth
International Tractors Limited (ITL) sold 10,159 tractors in September 2026, compared with 7,995 units in September 2025.
The company posted approximately 27.08% year-on-year growth, with market share rising from 11.82% to 13.21%.
TAFE Sales Increase
Escorts Kubota Gains Share
Escorts Kubota Limited’s Agri Machinery Group sold 7,772 tractors, compared with 6,692 units a year earlier.
The company recorded approximately 16.14% growth, taking its market share from 9.90% to 10.11%.
John Deere Posts Strong Performance
John Deere India recorded sales of 6,007 tractors in September 2026, compared with 4,771 units in September 2025.
Sales increased by approximately 25.91%, while market share improved from 7.06% to 7.81%.
Eicher and CNH Industrial
Eicher Tractors sold 4,410 units, compared with 3,995 units in September 2025, registering approximately 10.39% growth. Its market share, however, declined from 5.91% to 5.73%.
CNH Industrial India reported sales of 3,456 units, up from 3,203 units last year. Sales grew by approximately 7.90%, while market share declined from 4.74% to 4.49%.
Other Manufacturers See Decline
The combined sales of other tractor manufacturers stood at 4,299 units, down from 5,924 units in September 2025.
Their sales declined by approximately 27.43%, while combined market share dropped from 8.76% to 5.59%.
The Indian tractor market expanded from 67,612 units in September 2025 to 76,906 units in September 2026, representing a 13.75% year-on-year increase.
The September performance highlights continued strength among major tractor OEMs, with Mahindra retaining the top position and ITL, Swaraj, John Deere and Escorts Kubota showing notable gains in sales and/or market share.
